D.A.R.E. Program

Officer Dion Yancy has been with the Pocahontas Police Department since 2000.  He recently graduated the D.A.R.E. program and will be the new D.A.R.E. instructor for Pocahontas and St. Pauls Schools.

    D.A.R.E. originated in Los Angeles California in 1983 and has taken off by leaps and bounds.  In 1997 Officer Chad Mulligan introduced the city of Pocahontas to the D.A.R.E. Program.  The Citizens of Pocahontas have welcomed D.A.R.E. with open arms and have made  the program a huge success for both the Pocahontas Police Department and the Pocahontas Schools.
