CommentsHi just found your website it's great! Just like some other's I too have lived there in the years of 1974 to around 1976 I remember the High School and a trusted friend his name was Terry Haynes anyone know what has happened with him? my grandparents were from there they are buried at Black Rock. There names were Brooks and Beaulah Rowland the lived on Drew Street I remember it fondly the hill street leading to my grandparents home always an adventure awaited there. My mother is Yvonne Rowland (now deceased) If anyone remembers any of the Rowland family or any news of my mother growing up there please let me know. Mom also had several sister's and brothers.
CommentsI just left Pocahontas in April, 2008 to come to Belgium. This is a beautiful country but can not compare at all to the beauty of Randolph county, and to the people that live there.
CommentsPocahontas is righteous! Cool website, by the way! ~VOD~

My warmest regards and best wishes go to all of you out there in Pocahontas, AR, USA, from the home of The Beatles, Liverpool, England!

CommentsI like the web site!
CommentsAwesome site. Thanks.
CommentsI am working on an ENORMOUS project about the 50 states, their cities and towns and want to add Pocahontas to it. I can’t download or print up any info off the internet or emails due to lack of space, ink and compatibility problems with some of my programs so I’m hoping to get visitors info sent via snail mail. I am interested in everything tourism about Pocahontas, including all kinds of maps. This is a one time thing so I’m hoping to get as much visitors info on Pocahontas as I possibly can. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. Kathy Bynum 2928 SE 170th Ave Portland, Oregon 97236
CommentsNice!
CommentsHi, We are planning a trip in your general direction this summer. We are retired teachers and have never been out west. You appear to have a very beautiful community.
CommentsI lived in Poky when I was in high school. I graduated in 1974. My maiden name was White. Came back for our 20 yr reunion but haven't made it back since then.
CommentsGreat website mate.
CommentsI have been doing ancestry research and found out that my great-grandfather, Lewis Littleon Pearcy, lived in Biggers back around the turn of the century. His wife, Nancy (maiden name unknown), born, raised, married, and is buried somewhere in Randolph County (more than likely Biggers area). Anyone with any kind of info, please let me know.
CommentsGreat site!
CommentsGreat site, keep up the good work!
CommentsHello everyone, I want to take the time today to tell everyone that I have a new web site www.goldenartwork.photos.homepagenow.com Please stop by and take a look at some of my art work. I still have plenty to put in my gallery, but what you will see in the gallery is a start. I do all kinds of art work. I do everything from (black and white) drawings, to full body sculptures. Right now I'm making Halloween sculptures, and very soon I'll be making Christmas sculptures. So stop by and take a look, have a nice day.

CommentsI was born in Pocahontas in 1949, moved away in 1964, visited once at a family reunion about 15 years ago but was thinking of another visit. Loved the fishing in the South. Miss the warm water fishing and snakes. Oregon doesn't have much of either.
CommentsI was born in Pocahontas in 1951, my parents are Edward W. (deceased 9/28/2005) and Sara Sorg. Found this website and it got me thinking about family vacations.
CommentsBest Site Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CommentsReturned for 40th class reunion, thanks class of 1967, had a good time seeing everyone again.
CommentsIt's been awhile since I left there and just wanted to see what was going on. Class of 1978!
CommentsI have a friend there, it is a beautiful city
CommentsPHS 92. Funny how growing up there, I couldn't wait to get out, now I cant find a way to come back. Try to come back once a year, even got the opp. to catch a playoff game last year. Good to see Coach Williams still roaming the sidelines, and my former teammate "Little one paw" and Jeremy Sifford on the sidelines. Town has grown, but still feels the same. No matter where I go, Pokey will still be home.
CommentsI love livin in Pokey!
CommentsGreat website - Reminds me of home and my roots !
Commentsfound this site a couple of years ago then lost it.. anyway...wanting to relocate back to the area and I'm seeking information on employment in Pocahontas and surrounding areas...if anyone has any info., please advise...I was back in Pocahontas last summer, and it's still as comfortable as when i was a child living there...thanks for any info...great web-site, thanks.
CommentsI'm a song writer and a artist. I do all kinds of art work like, oil and acrylic paintings. Also I do color, black and white drawings and portraits. I also do T-shirt printing as well. I'll be moving to Pocahontas in a few weeks. When I get moved, I will be going into business with my best friend Robert Bowers jr. Rob is opening up a detail shop and with this business, is where I'll be doing the things mentioned above, plus I'll be detailing cars. So come check us out when we open. There will be information and directions to the business in the up coming month.
CommentsHello everyone. I grew up in Pocahontas, went to St. Paul's and graduated from PHS in 2001. My mum is one of the many Baltz's. I'm currently in Taiwan teaching English, but during one of my many homesick nights I found this site and had to say hi. If anyone reading this is considering settling down in Pocahontas to have a family, I'd like to say I loved growing up there. My mom always said I was abnormally happy, and I know at least once I told her it was because life was so good: a close circle of friends in school, playing in the band, Christmas parades, fishing with family on the weekends, knowing half the people at Wal-Mart, and getting lost in the woods with my sister...One thing I'll never regret is my childhood. I'll be visiting as soon as I can :)
CommentsI am (was) Emily Zucca. I graduated from PHS in 1975. I so miss Pocahontas. Life is so different out west. Those of you who still are blessed to live in Randolph County should thank God everyday. I am sure there are nice people everywhere but to tell you the truth, Randolph County has the BEST!
CommentsLoverly zite!
CommentsI hope to be moving to Pocahontas 1n the next month or two I would like to have a business of T-Shirt printing and sales and candle making and sales me and my son have a real good friend (Rob Bowers) there.
CommentsI have an apparently old little league bat made by Sallee. Can anyone tell me if there is still a company by that name in the area? Or, do you know when they last made little league bats?
CommentsI grew up in Pocahontas. I would like to hear from anyone that went school with me.
CommentsStumbled upon this site when planning a car trip from Texas to St. Louis. My mother was born in Pocahontas in 1933.
CommentsGreat site, well done, I love the outlay. Interesting ideas, good to see eager young minds.
CommentsWe just recently visited pocahontas, ar. (may 24,'07) and bought property. We all as a family decided to leave florida to look for a town (in ar) that was as close as home cookin' and nice people as you could get. In Florida you just don't get that kind of hospitality anymore. Home sweet home!
CommentsMy grandmother just passed away and the family was reminiscing about her life. A fact that I was unaware of is that she was born in the back of a covered wagon in Pocahontas, Arkansas in 1915 while the family traveled to Illinois. No one was really sure where they started from though. A few months later (in Illinois) her mother died and her father could not care for the family so they were split up between relatives and a lot of history was lost.
Commentsgreat site very informative
CommentsHey folks, not that any one remembers me but I was born in Pokey some 40 plus years ago. I moved to Comfort Texas when I was 14 and have lost track of everyone except my three of my sisters and their family who still live there. It's so unfortunate that Waterloo Industries shut down. Two of my sisters have worked there FOREVER! I was there in June last year to lay my mom to rest. Sometimes it's nice to go back to "roots" and discover. Never know I may come back after all these years although after living in the mountains of Ruidoso; it would take an climate adjustment.
